DJI robot vacuum leak suggests the Roomba rival is getting closer – and could have an unusual design feature Company’s first robot vacuum is apparently named DJI Romo Both Romo and its docking station pictured in leaked image Rumors claim it will sweep and mop using advanced obstacle avoidance DJI is best known for its drones, gimbals and action cameras, but the Chinese company has been branching out into other areas of late. Last year, for instance, it made a surprise move into e-bikes – and now it seems poised to launch its first robot vacuum cleaner. We first got a glimpse of a rumored DJI cleaner back at the end of May , with a leaked photo from @OsitaLV showing a palette of boxes bearing an image of a vacuum and docking station and the name “DJI Romo”. And now, a new image seems to show the device in the flesh. Or the plastic, at least. Serial tech leaker Igor Bogdanov has posted a grainy spy shot of what appears to be the DJI Romo inside its docking station. And whil...

Don’t buy a 360 camera – the new DJI Osmo 360 just leaked again, and it’s expected to launch imminently Four new photos of the DJI Osmo 360 have leaked online 360 action camera tipped for July 2025 launch Specification said to rival that of the Insta360 X5 Yet more leaked images of the long-rumored DJI Osmo 360 have been posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), showing the 360-degree action camera from almost every angle. Despite being watermarked, the four images, posted by prolific tech leaker Igor Bogdanov (who tweets as @Quadro_News ), may well be our clearest look yet at DJI’s first ever 360 camera. They line up with previous leaked images of the device, showing a squat dark gray action camera with bulbous ultra-wide lenses on both sides, a small widescreen display and two physical buttons on one side, plus what appears to be a power button on one of the edges. 👉I think DJI has a different strategy. After all, we're waiting for it - the Osmo 360😜#osmo360 pic.tw...

Canon and Nikon camera prices jump in the US by up to $500 – here are the models most affected US stores see equipment prices rise by around 10% Canon EOS R1 price has increased by $500 Further tariff-led increases could be on the way soon Earlier this year, both Canon and Nikon warned consumers that prices of their products would be affected by US tariffs – and now those price hikes have begun in earnest. As reported by DP Review , who have been tracking the US prices of Canon and Nikon gear on the companies’ own websites as well as Amazon, there has been a clear spike in prices in recent weeks. Nikon cameras and lenses, for instance, have risen by an average of 10.5%. Canon prices have jumped by as much as $500 on certain items (over the price listed when the product was first announced), and on average have increased by 9.7%. Other manufacturers have made similar increases; Sigma, for instance, bumped up its lens prices in the US by 10% earlier in June. For Canon, the pr...

Image
Forget DJI – Insta360’s new coin-sized wireless mic looks like a Mic Mini killer, here’s why Tiny magnetic transmitter weighs just 7.9g Compatible with Insta360 X5, Ace Pro 2, Flow series and more Insta360 Mic Air price starts at just $49.99 / £49.99 / AU$89.99 There’s no shortage of tiny digital mics designed for content creators on the market, and Insta360 has just entered the fray with its first ever wireless mic : the Insta360 Mic Air. The Mic Air transmitter (or TX) is a coin-sized disc that can be clipped to a collar, fixed to a shirt with a magnetic clamp or even worn like a pendant. It comes supplied with a windshield to help cut down unwanted exterior noise, plus built-in noise reduction technology. It offers 10-hour battery life and a 300m wireless range. Here's what's really neat – the Mic Air supports 48kHz/24-bit audio via a direct wireless connection with two of Insta360’s action cameras: the Insta360 X5 and Insta360 Ace Pro 2 . A direct wireless conne...

DJI Mini 5 Pro leaks give us our first glimpse of the beginner drone and a potential release date – here’s what we know Apparent DJI Mini 5 Pro prototype spotted and snapped by mountain biker Serial leaker says trusted source has signalled 7 August 2025 launch date New ultralight drone will reportedly come with LiDAR sensors Drone lovers, prepare for lift-off: the release of the long-rumored DJI Mavic 5 Pro could be imminent, according to one serial leaker. The replacement for the DJI Mini 4 Pro , which we rate as the best-in-class ultralight drone , is due to get its official launch on 7 August 2025, if serial drone blogger Jesper Ellens is to believed. Writing at DroneXL , Ellens reports that a (reliable) contact has messaged him sharing the date. He also says that, while he usually prefers to wait for more corroboration before posting a rumor like this, this source has never been wrong before. If true, the date is a mere seven weeks away – weeks in which we expect further...

Will DJI drones be banned in the US? DJI says the clock is ticking –and it urgently needs its fans to help An act passed by Congress requires security review by December DJI says it's willing to co-operate, but no agency has started the process If the audit is not completed, a ban on DJI drones will come into force DJI drones are the most popular flying cameras in the US. Both its consumer and professional quadcopters sell in huge numbers, and they also rank among the best drones you can buy. Yet a huge question mark still looms over their immediate future. By the end of 2025, DJI drones could be banned in the US – and that's prompted the Chinese giant to raise the alarm bells about the obstacles it's flying into. We have reached out to the relevant agencies to fulfill this obligation set out by Congress. However, more than six months have passed, and that process still hasn’t begun. DJI spokesperson Talk of a ban on DJI drones has been circulating for more...

This leaked Insta360 camera could be the Go 4 – and the design has me asking questions

This leaked Insta360 camera could be the Go 4 – and the design has me asking questions Leaked image shows a rounded square design and a large lens Hints at a wireless charging dock but no modular design Suggests Insta360 is soon to release its next action camera Insta360’s next action camera model might just have surfaced. And if the leaked image is accurate, the camera maker could be plotting a serious design shake-up. Rumored to be the Go 4, the new camera doesn’t look like an obvious successor to the Go 3S , which we rate as the best modular action camera . In fact, it doesn’t look like any Insta360 camera I’ve used before. Shared by @Quadro_News – a usually reliable source – the leaked photo shows a miniature camera with a rounded square design and a large lens dominating one corner. Crucially, the product pictured in the leak is comprised of a single unit. Unlike the Go 3S, there’s no obvious separation between camera and screen block. I’ve used both the Insta360 Go ...

Leaked Osmo Nano images suggest DJI is taking a second swing at tiny modular action cams, and I'm all for it

Leaked Osmo Nano images suggest DJI is taking a second swing at tiny modular action cams, and I'm all for it Leaked images show a tiny, modular wearable camera Suggests the DJI Osmo Nano will rival the Insta360 Go 3S Release date rumored for next month, ahead of another new Insta360 model They might be grainy, but leaked images of the DJI Osmo Nano have got me excited. If the stills are legit – and they look pretty convincing – DJI could be about to launch its smallest, most wearable action camera to date. That’s big news if you’re a creator who shoots first-person content for social. It also looks set to stir things up in the action cam market. Judging by the images, which you can see in the embedded X post below, the rumored Osmo Nano is gunning for the Insta360 Go 3S . This magnet-mounted action camera sets the standard for hands-free filming. With a tiny design and flexible mounting options, it allows you to capture creative POV footage with ease. For that reason, it ...

DJI rumors point to three major product launches next month, including a new 360 camera

Image
DJI rumors point to three major product launches next month, including a new 360 camera Report claims that DJI will launch all three products within July DJI Osmo 360 will be the first product officially announced DJI also rumored to be unveiling the DJI Mini 5 Pro drone imminently July could be a busy month for DJI – at least if one report is correct. Serial leaker Jasper Ellens claims that the company will be launching the DJI Osmo 360, DJI Osmo Nano and DJI Mic 3 all in the same month (but not all at the same time, interestingly enough). Writing at his website Drone XL , Ellens says he’s been informed by two separate sources that all three of these products will be released in July. First up, according to Ellens, will be the DJI Osmo 360 on July 15 2025, just five weeks away. The Osmo 360 is DJI’s long-rumored answer to the GoPro Max or Insta360 X series, a 360-degree camera designed to capture everything happening around it through the use of two ultra-wide camera units...

SwitchBot's new robovac has a special hat that turns it into a roving fan, air purifier or security cam The SwitchBot Multitasking Household Robot K20+ Pro is now on sale It comprises a robovac with a platform onto which various appliances can be attached It can operate as a mobile fan, air purifier, and more Most robot vacuums are content just to take care of cleaning your floors. Not so the SwitchBot K20+ Pro. This new robovac can operate not only as a vacuum, but also a fan, air purifier, or delivery service. The setup comprises a compact robot vacuum, onto which clips the 'FusionPlatform'. The platform then becomes a base for various other appliances, and the robovac becomes the wheels that drive the whole setup around. It's compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri, for seamless smart home integration, and some docked appliance functions can be automated as part of the SwitchBot ecosystem too. Because the whole thing sits on top of a robot vacuum,...

I’m a photographer and Hasselblad could be making my perfect camera – a minimalist medium-format with DJI-powered autofocus

I’m a photographer and Hasselblad could be making my perfect camera – a minimalist medium-format with DJI-powered autofocus First images of the rumored Hasselblad X2D 100C II surface Leaked specs suggest a new LiDAR autofocus system on board FCC application reveals further details, including refined controls If money were no object, the stunning Hasselblad X2D 100C would probably be my first choice of camera for photography . The minimalist 100MP medium-format camera's looks, handling, and image quality are top drawer. It's far from the perfect camera, though. I don't mind that it's a photography-only camera (that's right, no video recording capabilities whatsoever). But what did spoil my experience somewhat was its sluggish autofocus performance during testing – a drawback that could be addressed with its rumored upcoming successor. MirrorlessRumors has flagged an FCC application for a Hasselblad X2D 100C II, which not only contains the first proper im...

DJI says it ‘welcomes’ imminent US drone ban review – here’s why

Image
DJI says it ‘welcomes’ imminent US drone ban review – here’s why News report claims White House executive order banning Chinese drone sales is imminent DJI claims its products are fully secure and that it welcomes scrutiny DJI has already postponed the launch of the Mavic 4 Pro in the US According to reports in the US, the Trump administration may be about to issue a total ban on US sales of Chinese-made drones. While that might sound like disastrous news for the likes of DJI, it may in fact provide it with an excellent opportunity to finally clear up any lingering doubts over security risks. The Washington Post claims that, as early as this week, the White House will issue multiple executive orders that could lead to companies like DJI being effectively barred from selling any new models in the US. Assuming the reports are true (and bearing in mind that Trump has U-turned on some proposed tariff and trade policies) this would be the latest development in an ongoing cold wa...

Ricoh shows off long-awaited GR IV compact camera, but it doesn't look like the major upgrade I wanted

Ricoh shows off long-awaited GR IV compact camera, but it doesn't look like the major upgrade I wanted Ricoh GR IV prototype now on display to the public in the company's GR Space showroom in Tokyo Ricoh has already confirmed GR IV is on course for an 'autumn 2025' launch A variation with highlight diffusion filter will follow in 'winter 2025' I’ve been keenly waiting for a first look at the upcoming Ricoh GR IV – but now that it’s happened, I can’t help but feel a little underwhelmed. Disappointed, even. The long awaited replacement for the excellent Ricoh GR III (which will be discontinued), the GR IV is set to be the next flagship model in Ricoh’s iconic range of premium digital point-and-shoots. The GR series has gained something of a cult classic status among photographers, prized for their pocketable size, unassuming design and use of large sensors. They're ideal for street photography and holiday snapshots alike, so the release of a new m...

Fresh DJI Osmo 360 leaks may have given us a sneak preview of the 360-degree camera and its specs

Fresh DJI Osmo 360 leaks may have given us a sneak preview of the 360-degree camera and its specs More DJI Osmo 360 images have leaked online The 360-degree camera could launch in July It's said to be similar to the Insta360 X5 in specs Rumors around a 360-degree camera from DJI have been swirling since October , and now we have some fresh leaks that supposedly give us a look at the DJI Osmo 360 – as well as hinting at some of the specifications it'll bring with it. Tipster @GAtamer (via Notebookcheck ) has posted some pictures of the DJI Osmo 360, showing off the compact camera, the two lenses on the front and back of the device, the small integrated touchscreen, and what looks like an accessory mount. According to the same source, the specs of the DJI Osmo 360 are going to be "almost the same as the X5", referring of course to the Insta360 X5 that launched in April – another 360-degree camera that the DJI Osmo 360 will be challenging head on. Have a r...

DJI Osmo 360 leak suggests Insta360 rival could land sooner than expected – and it may be joined by the tiny DJI Osmo Nano A new leak claims the DJI Osmo 360 will be launched in July 2025 The "DJI Osmo Nano" has mentioned in a recent FCC filing Tariff uncertainty could mean US launches are postponed DJI’s long-rumored 360 camera may be only weeks away from release – and it might not be the only action camera the brand has in store for us this summer. In a report published today, Chinese website IT Home claims that the DJI Osmo 360, DJI’s first consumer 360 camera, will be launched in July 2025. Aside from that rather vague and tantalizing rumor, the news piece is light on new info – but given that some commentators have speculated that this camera would never see the light of day at all, it’s something. We’ve already heard plenty of rumors about the Osmo 360, however: it was first mentioned in an FCC filing back in October 2024, with the first leaked shots hitti...
